Suicide bomb attack kills 8 in Kabul
Reporting from Kabul, Afghanistan — A suicide bomber targeted an Afghan air force bus in Kabul on Wednesday, killing eight people and injuring 18 others, including some civilians, authorities said.
The incident around 6:50 a.m. took place near Kabul University, where a suicide bomber on foot detonated an explosive vest near a bus carrying Defense Ministry personnel, Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said.
The Defense Ministry confirmed the attack, saying eight air force personnel were killed and 13 others were injured. Five civilians were wounded in the bombing, officials said.
In a statement, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack.
