Long before Kevin Bacon starred in “Footloose,” or before Michael Bacon became known as an Emmy Award-winning composer for film and television, the brothers shared a love for music. The duo formed The Bacon Brothers Band in 1995 with a mix of gritty rock and Philly soul.

On Aug. 1 and 2, the musical siblings perform in their only stop west of the Mississippi River at The Orleans Showroom.
Michael Bacon takes on the vocals, guitar and cello and Kevin Bacon performs vocals, guitar and percussion. Four other members of the band bring sounds such as the accordion and mandolin.

It took until 2008 before the brothers released “New Years Day,” with Kevin composing the majority of the album’s songs.

The Bacon Brother’s newest album “36 ¢,” is a combination of fast-picking country with glimpses of hip-hop, English countryside plucks and Alanis Morissette cover song “You Learn,” including “Above The Clouds,” “Kiss Your Mother” and the title track.

Tickets start at $29.95.
