Reporting from Las Vegas — Laugh a little, sing a little and get in the spirit of Hawaii when Society of Seven brings its variety show to the Suncoast Showroom July 25-26.
The Hawaiian-bred group combines comedy sketches, celebrity impersonations, dance and live music performances, including popular standards, Top 40 hits and theatrical showstoppers.
The group formed in the 1960s as The Fabulous Echoes and released a number of records in Asia. Their rendition of “A Little Bit of Soap” was No. 1 on the Hong Kong charts for 32 weeks. In 1968, the group transitioned to Society of Seven while performing throughout Hawaii.
In 2007, the group received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. Society of Seven last performed in Las Vegas in 2012 and formerly held a residency at the Gold Coast in 2010.
Singer Lhey Bella guest stars alongside Society of Seven.
