The Summerland Tour rocks Brooklyn Bowl with Everclear, Fuel and more

Reporting from Las Vegas — See four ’90s alternative rock bands for one price when the Summerland Tour comes to Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq Saturday, Aug. 8.

Everclear, Fuel, Toadies and American Hi-Fi all perform during the fourth annual tour that Rolling Stone once hailed as one of the 10 hottest summer package tours. The 32-city tour, which was launched in 2012 by Art Alexakis, the lead singer and guitarist for Everclear, kicks off June 11 in Ft. Myers, Fla.
“This is the kind of line up I’ve dreamed of when I started the Summerland Tour,” Alexakis said in a press statement.

Everclear‘s mix of rock and post-punk sounds has been around for two decades. The band’s ninth studio album, titled Black Is The New Black, debuts on April 28. Songs such as “Santa Monica” and “Everything to Everyone” are staples of this Portland., Ore.-based group.

Harrisburg, Pa.-based Fuel’s massive hit “Shimmer” launched them on the national scene in 1998. Their second album, Something Like Human, earned multi-platinum status driven by the singles “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage.”

Toadies found success with their song “Possum Kingdom,” the follow-up single “Away” and the fan favorite “Tyler.” Toadies recently revisited its platinum-selling 1994 debut with a 20th anniversary reissue of the album.

Blood & Lemonade is American Hi-Fi’s fourth full-length album and the groups’s first since 2010’s Fight the Frequency. It features songs such as “Golden State,” “Allison” and “Armageddon Days” with a guitar rock and power pop sound. Their biggest hit is “Flavor of The Weak.”
