Reporting from Las Vegas — Thought the Grateful Dead were done? Think again. A reincarnated version of the famed band, dubbed Dead & Company, is bringing its music to life at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a two-night performance Nov. 27-28.
Three of the original members of the Grateful Dead, guitarist Bob Weir and percussionists Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, make up Dead & Company, which formed after the sold-out 2015 Grateful Dead “Fare Thee Well” 50th-anniversary concerts.
The group continues to spread the original band’s message of peace, love and mind expansion. Dead & Company’s 2015 shows include Grammy Award-winning singer and guitarist John Mayer stepping in for the late Jerry Garcia.
Bassist Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti of RatDog will also join the group to perform classic hits including “Touch of Grey,” “Bertha” and “Friend of the Devil.”
Tickets start at $50 and go on sale on Friday, Sept. 18.
Tickets: Ticketmaster, (800) 745-3000
