A murder of one flies into Las Vegas when the Counting Crows perform

Reporting from Las Vegas — Mr. Jones and I are heading to the Counting Crows show when the groups brings its Somewhere Under Wonderland Tour with special guest Citizen Cope to the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Singer Adam Duritz, drummer Jim Bogios, guitarist David Bryson, keyboardist Charlie Gillingham, guitarist David Immergluck, bass player Millard Powers and guitarist Dan Vickrey became overnight stars when their debut album “August and Everything After” arrived in 1993. Songs such as “Round Here,” “Omaha” and “Mr. Jones” had been in their repertoire, reworked for the album.
The Counting Crows were named for the British nursery rhyme “One for Sorrow,” and a self-reference even makes an appearance in the band’s song “A Murder of One.”
The band released seven albums over the past two decades and sold more than 20 million albums. The Counting Crows’ September 2014 release ”Somewhere Under Wonderland” contains the band’s latest single “Palisades Park.”
