Celine Dion fans, rejoice. She’s back in Las Vegas starting in August

Reporting from Las Vegas —  Last August, Canadian songstress Celine Dion canceled her scheduled appearances in Las Vegas to give her throat a rest (she battled a throat inflammation that kept her off the stage from July 29 on) and to take care of her husband, René Angélil, who had a cancerous tumor removed in December 2013.
Fans waited.

Now Dion says she’s ready to get back to business with her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She returns with 40 dates from Aug. 27 through Jan. 17, 2016, in the nearly 4,300-seat theater.

The announcement, which Dion said her husband wanted, coincides with what would have been the 12th anniversary of her first performance at the venue. She opened The Colosseum on March 25, 2003, and since, she’s been on the stage 927 times.

Dion was a star long before “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic.” After all, Angélil was the one who discovered her when Dion was 12 and helped her produce her first album in French. Since, she’s sold almost 250 million records during her 30-plus year career, winning five Grammy Awards, two Academy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 20 Juno Awards in Canada and more.

Tickets start at $55 and go on sale on Saturday, March 28.
