Britney Spears re-ups her Las Vegas residency for two years

Reporting from Las Vegas — Pop star Britney Spears answered her fans’ plea to “Gimme More” by announcing that she’s sticking around Las Vegas for two more years.
Her headlining residency show, “Britney: Piece of Me,” at the Axis in the Planet Hollywood Resort will continue through December 2017, with tickets for performances from January through April 2016 going on sale to the public.
She also plans to add new elements to the show.
Get in line for shows Jan. 2 and 3; Feb. 13, 14, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26 and 27; and April 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 20 and 22.
Since opening in December 2013, “Britney: Piece of Me” has been seen by almost 400,000 guests.
Her show includes more than 20 of her worldwide hits, including “Baby One More Time,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” “Circus,” “Womanizer,” “Slave 4 U” and her newest No. 1 single, “Pretty Girls.”
The show includes a four-piece band, 14 dancers, elaborate sets, specialized costumes and state-of-the-art technology, all directed by Baz Halpin.
Tickets start at $59 and go on sale on Monday, Sept. 14, for shows through April 2016.
