Reporting from Las Vegas — The average Las Vegas visitor spends $140.90 on shopping, at least according to a 2013 study by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority.
Tourists will have 120 new places to spend those dollars when the Grand Bazaar Shops open in front of Bally’s Las Vegas on Feb. 26.
The open-air market spread over 2 acres will feature tiny 150- to 300-square-foot boutiques from brands such as jewelers Swarovski and watch vendor Swatch; accessories designers Ugg and Toms’ and Brazilian footwear retailer Havaianas.
Superdry brings British vintage clothes, while natural cosmetics company Lush adds bath bombs and soaps sold by the pound to the mix.
New to Las Vegas brands debuting at the shopping center include Hawaiian fashion and home furnishings retailer Martin & MacArthur and Los Angeles handbag designer Hammitt.
Another 26,500 square feet is dedicated to food and dining, including an outpost of San Francisco’s ramen bar Katana-Ya and carnival-type fare from Jimmy’s Seaside Fries.
Just try to grab one of the ice cream cones from the tricksters at Nazar Turkish Ice Cream, who use sticks to hold the ice cream in a cone out to diners and quickly pull it away.
The Grand Bazaar Shops also plans to feature the Swarovski crystal starburst, a giant sphere made from 924 Swarovski crystals that uses 1,800 points of LED lights for a dazzling beacon on the Strip.
