Quickest way to get down to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas

Reporting from Las Vegas — Las Vegas makes a great jumping off point to see the Grand Canyon, but at 270 miles away, it’’s still a four-and-a-half-hour drive.
Enter Maverick Helicopters, the quickest way to get to one of the seven natural wonders in the world. During a three-plus hour tour, you can go from hotel room and back with a stop at the 277-mile long, one-mile deep gorge along the Colorado River.
The shortest trip zips over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and an extinct volcano called Fortification Hill on the way down. On the return trip, fly over downtown Las Vegas and the Strip.
Book a return flight at night to take in the neon as you return to Las Vegas.
Make it a longer day and you can stop at the bottom of the canyon. One tour lands in Hualapai Indian Territory and serves passengers a glass of Champagne. You can take in the Grand Canyon Skywalk, the glass bridge outside Grand Canyon National Park that walks tourists over the western edge of the canyon.
Another excursion takes guests river rafting through the Black Canyon right before the Colorado River passes through Hoover Dam.
