Super Bowl betting tips, bashes and cheap beer in Las Vegas
Las Vegas loves to party, particularly on Super Bowl Sunday. Where should you go? These places include a betting seminar with sportscaster Brent Musburger (remember, being in Vegas means you can lay down money on the New England Patriots-L.A. Rams smackdown in Atlanta), a newish sports book, a big-game bash and the perfect spot for Rams fans to gather.
South Point Hotel & Casino
Folks who want to wager on the game may want to get to Las Vegas in time for Friday’s Betting & Buds event at the South Point Hotel & Casino at 9777 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Longtime sportscaster Brent Musburger and analyst Michael Lombardi, whose NFL resumé includes a coaching job with the New England Patriots, plus local bookmakers Chris Andrews and Vinny Magliulo will serve up expert advice about sports betting.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m.and is free. It will be held in the resort’s Grandview Lounge, where you can pick up a beer for $1 between 5 and 8 p.m. Friday.

The Book at The Linq
The brand-new sports book at the Linq Hotel & Casino at 3535 S. Las Vegas Blvd. offers “fan caves†that seat up to 10 people for a private spot to watch and nosh. The $4,000 price tag includes open bar and premium buffet. General admission for a spot at the Book costs $250 a person.

Downtown Las Vegas Events Center
Located south of Fremont Street at 200 S. 3rd St., the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center hosts what it calls the Biggest Big Game Bash to give fans the feel of being in the middle of the action.
The ground will be covered with artificial turf, complete with the yard-line markings of a football field. At one end, a combined 72 feet of TV screens will capture every play.
You can spring $400 for a table that seats eight, or for $3,500 upgrade to a private spot on the sidelines. There will be nine food trucks offering everything from barbecue to Mexican to roasted nuts.

Pancho’s
Pancho’s was founded in Manhattan Beach more than 40 years ago, and its Las Vegas restaurant is a magnet for Southern California transplants who continue to cheer for the L.A. Rams. (A jersey autographed by running back Todd Gurley is among the sports memorabilia on display.)
Admission to Sunday’s watch party is free, with discounts on appetizers and margaritas throughout the game. It’s first come, first served, so plan to arrive early if you want to make sure you get a spot.
The restaurant at 11020 Lavender Hill Drive in downtown Summerlin opens at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Race & Sports Book
Rams fans can watch their team as they sip on cocktails created just for the Super Bowl Weekend at the Race & Sports Book at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas at 3708 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
The resort’s mixologist, Mariena Mercer, has fashioned a special menu with drinks such as the Greatest Show on Turf, a Scotch and tequila concoction; the Year of the Ram, vodka mixed with ancho chile, citrus and Bloody Mary mix; and Brady’s Bunch, a blend of Ciroc pineapple, Yellow Edition Tropical Red Bull, ginger and lime. Signature cocktails cost $16 each.
