Hotel brand will give out ‘little’ freebies at Santa Monica Pier

Little things can make you feel more comfortable when you’re on the road, but what exactly are those things? DoubleTree by Hilton thinks it knows.
The hotel brand launched a marketing campaign called the Little Things Project in January to go to 50 cities to push the brand and dispense “little things” to anyone who shows up at its tent. Next stop: the Santa Monica Pier from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday (as in today).
Visitors can pick up freebies such as wristbands for rides on the pier, discounts at local attractions and one of the hotel’s signature chocolate chip cookies. There’s also free Wi-Fi and plug-ins to recharge smartphones and laptops if your idea of a day at the beach involves online surfing.
If these aren’t your favorite things, tweet @DoubleTree and use the hashtag #LittleThings for a shot at having your wish fulfilled by the project’s “swarm car.” From what I can tell, no one yet has asked for a free hotel room or world peace, but maybe those things aren’t little enough.
