Sonoma County pier: Spud Point Marina Pier takes narrow view
Spud Point Marina PierOverview: This otherwise nondescript concrete walkway at Bodega Bay is said to be the narrowest pier in the state. At 21/2 feet wide, it’s tough for strollers to pass one another.
Notable views: You can see the harbor and its boats, as well as the green hills hugging the shoreline, but the view, by Northern California standards, is undramatic. While walking on the pier, you might see a lone harbor seal with a gray and white head; according to locals, that one rules the area.
Parking: Plenty of free spaces at the foot of the pier.
Directions: From Highway 1, turn onto Eastshore Road. Turn onto Bay Flat Road and continue onto Westshore Road. The pier will be on the left.
