Harley is helping you hit the road on a Hog

America’s largest motorcycle maker is packing up and hitting the road. Harley-Davidson is offering an Authorized Tours program with motorcycle trips to 150 destinations in North America, Europe, Africa and Australia with tour info in 10 languages.
The 108-year-old motorcycle manufacturer has offered tours in the past, “but nothing to the extent of this,” said Matthew King, a Harley-Davidson spokesman in Milwaukee. “This is the most integrated, globally cohesive tour program we’ve ever had.”
Motorcyclists who want to ride across Route 66 or take a two-wheeled safari in South Africa can book it through one centralized website that allows riders to select trips from Harley’s Authorized Tours, based on time of year, duration, geographic region and format.
The tours, which last a few days to a few weeks, aren’t run by Harley-Davidson but 11 existing tour operators that were selected based on “best practices in the tour business,” King said. Which motorcycles are available depends on the tour operator and the rigors of the tour.
Like Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Authorized Tours can be customized. Riders can experience them individually or as part of a group, and the trips are offered as guided, semi-guided or self-guided programs with riding itineraries for beginning to experienced riders. Prices vary depending on the length of the trip and how much support is provided.
