Arizona: Explore Havasu Falls and remote Grand Canyon trails

Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona receives about 5 million visitors a year, but few venture beyond the north and south rims. Austin-Lehman Adventures offers a five-day hiking and camping trip that explores lightly trafficked red rock side canyons and spectacular waterfalls.
The trip, which starts and ends in Scottsdale, will have hikers spending time on foot in the red-rock country of Sedona. The tour then moves on to Hualapai Hilltop, the stepping-off point for a descent into the Native American village of Supai. Guests spend three nights at a base camp to hike to places such as Havasu, Beaver and Mooney falls. The trip’s last day includes a rigorous hike out of the canyon -- or the option (for a fee) to take a helicopter or horse ride to the top.
Date: This trip departs Sept. 13, Oct. 4 and Oct. 24.
Price: $1,698 per person, double occupancy; solo travelers add $75. It includes all meals, accommodations and ground transportation. Travel to and from Arizona is extra.
