Monterey: Late-summer camp for kids, hotel credits for parents
- Share via
Casa Munras Hotel & Spa in Monterey is offering a late-summer family package that comes with camp for kids and spa and restaurant credits for Mom and Dad. Prices start at $249 a night for getaways through early September.
The deal: The Camp Casa Kids Package comes with one four-hour Kids Camp Session in the morning or afternoon Fridays-Sundays. Activities for children are ocean-themed and include crafts, scavenger hunts and camp songs. Camp sessions are good for 5- to 12-year-olds; extra children may be added for $45 each.
There’s something in this package for parents too: a $30 credit at Sano Spa and $40 dinner credit at Esteban restaurant at Casa Munras.
When: The offer is good Thursdays-Sundays until Sept. 7, based on availability.
Tested: The savings on this package depend on whether you use the dining and spa credits or just want to take advantage of camp. (The only way kids may participate in Camp Casa is with this package.)
I checked on availability for a two-night stay starting on a Thursday (Aug. 23) and found a room with two double beds that averages out to $249 a night plus tax. The package on these dates would include a Friday morning or evening camp session. Standard room rates for the same nights cost about $40 less, but the credits and camp more than make up for that sum.
