Las Vegas: 30% off rooms at Caesars Palace this summer

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas takes nearly a third off the room prices for guests who stay at least three nights this summer. Consider it an early Christmas present -- that’s what they’re calling it.

The deal: Christmas in July promises 30% off room rates at Caesars Palace through the end of summer for three-night stays. Caesars Entertainment extends this offer to other hotels in Las Vegas (Planet Hollywood, Paris Las Vegas, etc.) and elsewhere. Use the promo code “CMAS11� when making a reservation to get this deal.

When: The offer is good for stays on selected dates through Sept. 30, but you must book by July 31. One caveat: I didn’t find availability in September at Caesars, though I did at other participating hotels.

Tested: I checked rates online at Caesars Palace for three weekend nights starting Aug. 26 and found availability for a classic room for two priced at $642 plus tax for the entire stay; room prices varied by night. The total cost for the same room on the same nights usually is $914 plus tax, or 30% more.

Midweek prices are lower. I found three nights at Caesars starting Aug. 8 for $341 plus tax for the stay, compared with a regular rate of $487 plus tax.
