Oktoberfest-by-the-Bay in San Francisco

A lederhosen-clad 21-piece German band will set the tone at this authentic celebration in San Francisco, where there will be oodles of schnitzel, bratwurst and German confections and loads of German beer. Also: historical German American immigration exhibits and vendors selling cuckoo clocks and other wares.
When, where: Oct. 11 to 14 at Fort Mason’s Festival Pavilion, Marina and Buchanan streets.
Cost: $20, $5 for ages 13 to 17, children 12 and younger are free.
