The real price of low airfares

Regarding “Club Mad” [May 27], I believe that we travelers have gotten just what we asked for. When we last booked a flight, how many of us asked, “What is the pitch of the seats in coach?” or “Which airline has the best on-time arrival record?” or “Which airline is known for good service?”
No, we asked only, “Who has the lowest fare?” The only concern was low price. We have reaped what we have sown.
