Calico, California Ghost Haunt 2007

A reading of “The Ravenâ€; ghost stories in the graveyard; tarot card readers; and Maggie’s Haunted Mine, an old silver mine that’s been decorated for the occasion, are among activities when the 1881 silver-mining town pumps up the chills for Halloween.

When, where: Friday to Oct. 21 and 26 to 28 at the town on Ghost Town Road off Interstate 15 in Yermo.

Cost: $10, $5 ages 6 to 15, 5 and younger free.
