South America, Cuba with luxury travel pioneer Geoffrey Kent for $99,500
Next year take off a month and indulge yourself with a trip to South America and Cuba led by luxury travel company founder and adventurer Geoffrey Kent.
Kent, 72, founder and CEO of Abercrombie & Kent, designed the 23-day journey to Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Chile and, for the first time on this private-jet journey, Cuba.
The accent is on bespoke experiences like spending time with musicians at a concert in Havana and a feast with local leaders on Easter Island. Accommodations range from a former convent that dates to the 17th century to an eco-lodge in the wildlife-rich Pantanal region of Brazil.
During the trip, guests travel to Machu Picchu in Peru in a private rail car on the Belmond Hiram Bingham line, explore the wilds of the Torres del Paine in Chile’s Patagonia, visit a samba school in Rio de Janeiro and see Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil.
The Cuban portion of the trip includes people-to-people activities and flies participants aboard a charter plane.
The trip is scheduled for Sept. 6 to 28. It begins and ends in Miami aboard a private Boeing 757 with first-class leather seats that fold down to lie-flat beds. Group is limited to 50 people.
The price for the trip starts at $99,500 per person.
