San Francisco takes the top spot for most expensive summer travel destination, and Las Vegas is the best deal, according to a TripAdvisor report released Thursday.

In San Francisco, travelers can expect to pay $508 for an overnight stay and a night on the town.

And the cheapest? For the fourth year in a row, Las Vegas comes in as the best deal (if you don’t count what you lose in gambling) with a cost of $276.

Those still looking for a summer getaway might want to consult the travel website’s TripIndex Cities to decide whether to save or splurge. The report looked at 67 popular tourist cities in the U.S. and compared the costs of a one-night hotel stay (at properties with four to 4 1/2 stars), two cocktails, two-course dinner with wine and a round-trip taxi fare. It considered prices from June to August only.

The good news-bad news: For the most part, U.S. hotel prices have gone down, the index shows. Room costs dipped 31% in theme-park capital Orlando, Fla., and 21% in Honolulu compared with 2013 rates. However room prices surged 16% in Portland, Ore., and 15% in Seattle in the last year.
