Highlights: A Friends of the River-sponsored event with white-water rafting and kayaking vendors offering outings and lessons, classes about river sports, workshops and more.

When, where: March 14, 2nd and Market streets to Civic Center Plaza.

Highlights: About 250,000 revelers attend this event, now in its 158th. The parade through the city ends at Civic Center Plaza, where Irish food, dance and song take center stage.

When, where: March 21, throughout Yountville

Highlights: The 16th annual event has offerings from 15 local restaurants (three with Michelin stars), 20 local wineries and several mustard and olive oil producers. Also, a tour of French Laundry’s 2-acre garden, an arts exhibit, live entertainment and a barbecue sponsored.

Cost: Free; tasting tickets $1 each.

When, where: March 26 to 28, the Broadmoor

Highlights: Grammy-winning guitarist Earl Klugh hosts a lineup of jazz artists, including Patti Austin and Spyro Gyra, in live performances.

When, where: March 27, IDES Hall on Main Street

Highlights: At this 40th annual event, Half Moon Bay’s residents will celebrate local farmers. Activities include lunch made with local produce and an awards ceremony naming the region’s farmer of the year.

Cost: $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
