Kauai’s St. Regis Princeville to accentuate wellness in 3 retreats
St. Regis Princeville will offer a series of wellness gatherings at its hotel overlooking Hanalei Bay on Kauai’s North Shore.
The meditation and wellness retreats are scheduled for May 29-June 1, Aug. 28-31 and Oct. 27-30 at the resort.
They are called “Nana la Loko†-- Hawaiian for “to look within†-- and are to be led by Puma Kalama Dawson, a cultural practitioner on Kauai.
The resort said she will begin by inviting participants to join in a traditional sunrise ceremony known as hiuwai. During the early morning ritual, guests will be encouraged to immerse themselves in the Pacific in an act of purification.
Other scheduled activities include meditation, yoga and breathing exercises known as pranayama. Healthy farm-to-table meals created especially for the retreat are also planned.
The sessions, which are described as an integrated approach to wellness, were developed with guidance from Jennifer Linder, director of the resort’s 10,000-square-foot Halelea Spa.
The retreat costs $2,390 per person. That doesn’t include lodging, which is available starting at $375 a night based on double occupancy.
