Las Vegas: Quad hotel changing to the Linq after $223-million redo

The Linq, Las Vegas’ trendy newish shopping, dining and night life center, is gaining a namesake hotel and casino, owner Caesars Entertainment announced Tuesday.

The company is transforming the current Quad Resort & Casino into what will be the Linq Hotel & Casino starting Oct. 30. The Las Vegas hotel will open with 2,256 rooms, including 204 suites and 29 cabana suites that directly access a reimagined pool deck area.

Architects Elkus Manfredi and Berman, Walls & Associates are the designers for the hotel-casino between the Flamingo and Harrah’s.

It will be built around a “signature lobby bar,� the announcement says, and feature rooms with modern design elements and wall murals that draw on the city’s old-time glamour.

Each room has one of three murals and color accents. Windows with floor-to-ceiling views, marble sinks and rain showers in the bathrooms, and a small workspace with charging and docking stations are included too. Introductory prices start at $89 a night plus tax.

Reservations for the Linq are open for stays Oct. 30 and later. The Quad will remain open until the switchover.

The hotel connects to the promenade’s 12 restaurants, eight bars, 14 shops and two concert venues, and some rooms will overlook the 550-foot-tall High Roller, according to a statement.

The High Roller, the city’s newest landmark, opened March 31 to claim the title of the world’s tallest observation wheel. (In the next few years it will be outdone by New York and Dubai, which each have plans to build wheels more than 600 feet tall.)
