Hawaii: Oahu’s first Four Seasons booking guests 8 months before opening

Already thinking about an escape to Hawaii next summer? If so, you can now reserve a room at what is anticipated to be one of the islands’ poshest resorts -- the first Four Seasons on Oahu.
The Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina began accepting reservations earlier this week -- despite the fact the hotel won’t welcome its first guests until June 1, 2016.
Formerly the JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina, the resort in West Oahu is well away from bustling Honolulu. After a major facelift, it will feature 358 rooms and suites plus five restaurants and lounges. The oceanfront hotel will also have four pools, beaches and a sheltered lagoon.
Guests who pre-book the introductory offer on the hotel’s website can get four nights for the price of three. I found a room that costs $475 a night reduced to $356 a night when staying four nights -- and that’s during the opening week next June. The Aloha Room features a king bed but, according to the website, “limited or no view.”
The resort is located near the town of Kapolei, about 17 miles northwest of Honolulu International Airport and 25 miles from Waikiki. Disney’s Aulani, which opened in 2011, is the area’s other upscale resort.
