Sasquatch has been spotted in Canada. No, really.

Sasquatch, the feared hairy beast that supposedly roams the mountains of North America, has been spotted in Whistler, Canada.

Pictures show that the monster looks suspiciously like a zip-line.

In fact, it is a zip-line -- the Sasquatch zip-line. Soon it will bridge two mountains in Whistler.

At 7,000 feet long -- remember, a mile is 5,280 feet — the zip-line clearly is a monster, so its name is appropriate.

Riders will launch from Blackcomb Mountain and whiz across a valley to Whistler Mountain.

Whistler, which hosted some events during the 2010 Winter Olympics, is about 75 miles north of Vancouver.

Sasquatch will welcome its first visitors in late July, although a specific date has yet to be announced.

At times, guests will soar 600 feet above the ground. A dual zip-line will allow spouses, friends, kindred thrill seekers to ride side-by-side.

The zip-line will roughly parallel the route taken by the Peak 2 Peak gondola as it travels between the two mountains.

Tickets, in U.S. dollars, will cost about $96.50 for adults and about $80.30 for ages 6 to 14. Tickets will be available once an opening date is announced.

The zip-line operator offers other adventures in Whistler. The original, the Ziptrek Bear Tour, incorporates five zip-lines and four treetop bridges. It’s priced the same as Sasquatch.
