Readers Recommend: Le Argille villa in Tuscany, Italy
Our extended family of 12 adults and children just returned from a week in Tuscany, Italy, where we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at a private villa in the small town of Strada in Chianti. It sits on a hillside overlooking the Tuscan hills, with extensive grounds, an infinity swimming pool and hot tub, a soccer field, treehouse and olive groves. The living quarters in the centuries-old main villa and separate guesthouse have been modernized with every convenience, including air conditioning and Wi-Fi. We even had the use of an on-site cook and caretaker who prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners. The location was very convenient for day-tripping to Florence, Siena and a multitude of hilltop scenic villages. Ideal for a family vacation or three or four couples. From about $9,800 a week, with a seven-night minimum.
