Ice-skating on Christmas in Honolulu? Here’s where to go to take a spin
- Share via
With temperatures in the 80s and plenty of sunshine forecast for Honolulu this month, outdoor ice skating might seem out of the question. But it’s not.
When you tire of the sand and sun and want a bit of the holiday feel, head to Ward Village, a shopping and entertainment complex a couple of miles west of Waikiki. Surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, the ice rink covers 4,200 square feet.
Open through Jan. 10, the rink features hot beverages such as cocoa and espresso. A 1.5-hour skating session costs $15 per person, including skate rental.
It’s open Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day too.
Regular rink hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Ward Village is also offering holiday lights tours of Honolulu. Trolleys depart at 6:30 and 7 p.m. through Dec. 30.
Tickets cost $6.50 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going to a local food bank.
Info: Ward Winter Village Ice Rink, (808) 591-8411.
