2 Huntington marinas reopen to swimmers after sewage spill

Two marinas in Huntington Harbour are open again to swimmers after being closed for more than two days after sewage spilled into the water.
The Orange County Health Care Agency closed the Sunset Aquatic and Portofino Cove marinas at about 5 p.m. Thursday after a grease trap caused a sewer line to clog, sending about 500 gallons of sewage into the harbor, said Anthony Martinez, water-quality program manager for the county.
County officials reopened the marinas on Sunday after bacteria levels again met state health standards, Martinez said.
