Five years after participating in the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition, USC’s Cody Kessler returned Tuesday to the event in Beaverton, Ore., as a camp counselor.
The competition features 18 of the top high school quarterbacks in the country and the Elite 11 will be selected Friday.
Kessler said he would be at the camp for two days before traveling Thursday to Louisiana to participate in the Manning Passing Academy.
Other quarterback counselors at the Elite 11 included Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg, Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett, Notre Dame’s Malik Zaire and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.
USC’s only quarterback commit in the 2016 recruiting class, Glendora High’s Matt Fink, was not invited to compete in the Elite 11.
Former USC quarterbacks selected to the Elite 11 were Matt Cassel, Matt Leinart, John David Booty and Mark Sanchez.
Trojans third-year sophomore Max Browne and freshman Ricky Town also were selected to the Elite 11.
