Thorpe Award, Heisman Trophy and Olympics all goals of USC’s Adoree’ Jackson

Adoree’ Jackson discusses USC spring football and his track season.

There’s no dream too big for USC sophomore Adoree’ Jackson.
Jackson, who plays cornerback, receiver and kick returner, is intent about winning the Thorpe Award -- for the top defensive back in college football -- Heisman Trophy and a medal in track and field at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Jackson, 5 feet 11 and 185 pounds, said he crafted his goals growing up in Belleville, Ill., to prove to his city “that you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.â€
Jackson was a freshman All-American last season. He deflected 10 passes, caught three touchdown passes and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
In track and field, he said he was “taking it one day at a time†as he adjusts to the college level. Jackson competes in the long jump and has run relays for the Trojans.
“Jumping is jumping, and sprinting is sprinting,†he said. “You just have to tune up on your technique.â€
Jackson said all of his goals are achievable.
“I think I can reach them, but they might not all come at the same time,†he said.
