Receiver Velus Jones switches commitment from USC to Oklahoma

In a surprising development on the recruiting front, Velus Jones, a receiver from Saraland, Ala., announced Friday that he had withdrawn his commitment to USC and instead would attend Oklahoma.
Jones committed to the Trojans, who were among one of his first offers, in April, but it has been rumored for the last several months that he would retract his pledge.
“I want to thank every university that gave me a chance to chase my dreams. I want to thank Tennessee and the University of Southern California but I will spend my college years at Oklahoma University,” Jones wrote on Twitter.
Jones made an official visit to USC last weekend.
