USC’s 2016 recruiting class lost a second committed player Tuesday in the wake of Steve Sarkisian’s firing.

North Torrance linebacker Mique Juarez, considered a top high school senior in the country, announced he would withdraw his commitment.

“At this time my family and I feel that it is in my best interest to de-commit from USC and open up my recruitment process,†Juarez wrote in a tweet. “I’d like to thank the coaching staff for everything they’ve done and hope the best for them.â€

Juarez, 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, committed to USC in January.

Linebacker Daelin Hayes of Belleville, Mich., announced his decommitment Sunday, after USC Athletic Director Pat Haden announced that Sarkisian would take an indefinite leave of absence.

Hayes signed a financial aid agreement last month, which was binding for the university but not for Hayes.

Fourteen players remain committed to USC’s 2016 recruiting class.
