Former USC star Matt Leinart, in a TV ad, longs for his college days
Oh, glory days.
Based on his role in a funny television commercial, former USC quarterback Matt Leinart wouldn’t mind reliving his as a Trojan.
The Dish TV ad, set in a diner, also features former Tennessee quarterback Heath Shuler and former Oklahoma linebacker Brian Bosworth. Like Leinart, they were college legends who could not repeat their success in the NFL.
“College?†Leinart says. “I’d go back to college.â€
So would Shuler and The Boz.
Leinart, the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner, led the Trojans to two national titles.
He was chosen 10th in the 2006 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals but was primarily Kurt Warner’s backup. He signed with the Houston Texans in 2010, the Oakland Raiders in 2012.
Leinart is now seen occasionally on various television networks in his comfort zone -- as a college football correspondent.
