Leonard Williams called ‘Hall of Fame talent’ at NFL Scouting Combine

Former USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams headlined the NFL Network’s broadcast of Sunday’s workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

“I was happy with everything I did,” Williams said.

Williams, 6 foot 5 and 302 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.97 seconds and completed the on-field drills with relative ease.

Multiple NFL Network analysts projected him as the top defensive player available in the draft.

“I think he has Hall of Fame talent,” analyst Charles Davis said.

Davis compared Williams to Merlin Olsen, who was the No. 3 overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1962 draft and a 14-time Pro Bowl selection.

“He woke up with something that most people don’t,” analyst Mike Mayock said. “It’s called talent.”

Williams made 80 tackles, including seven sacks, for USC last season.

He is scheduled to participate in USC’s Pro Day on March 11.
