Receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Darreus Rogers absent from practice
USC receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Darreus Rogers were absent from practice Tuesday, Smith-Schuster because of “personal reasons†and Rogers because of a hamstring injury, Coach Steve Sarkisian said.
Smith-Schuster, a sophomore, has a team-best 27 catches, six for touchdowns. On Tuesday, he was added to the watchlist for the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to college football’s top receiver.
“Hope to have him back [Wednesday],†Sarkisian said. “I don’t think it’s serious.â€
Rogers, a junior with seven catches, was injured during the Trojans’ 42-14 victory over Arizona State last week.
Sarkisian said Rogers was rehabilitating the injury on Tuesday.
“Everybody responds differently,†he said. “So it’s going to a take a little time.â€
USC has an open date Saturday. The Trojans are set to play Washington on Oct. 8.
