Update: No. 21 USC’s first stint as a ranked team since 2008 could be a short one. The Trojans (15-4, 4-2) lost at Oregon on Thursday and now travel to play Oregon State (11-6, 2-4). USC hasn’t lost consecutive games since losing to Xavier and Monmouth in November. Freshman forward Bennie Boatwright scored a career-high 23 points against the Ducks. The Beavers have lost three games in a row, to Colorado, Utah and UCLA. Guard Gary Payton II is averaging 17.2 points, eight rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
