Former USC tailback Allen Bradford playing linebacker for Seahawks

When he arrived at USC from Colton High in 2006, Allen Bradford was regarded as a two-way standout who could help the Trojans at either running back, safety or linebacker.
Former coach Pete Carroll made Bradford a tailback.
But Bradford has been a linebacker on Carroll’s Seattle Seahawks practice squad the last two seasons and is getting an increased opportunity in training camp.
Eric D. Williams of the News Tribune details Bradford’s situation.
“I run through fullbacks,” Bradford told Williams. “I’m going to hit the running back. I’ll hit the receiver -- wherever the ball goes, I’m going to go, and I’m going to crush it, regardless. That’s just my mentality since I’ve been playing football.”
The Seahawks play an exhibition game Thursday against the San Diego Chargers.
“It’s a really important step for him,” Carroll told Williams. “He’s made a big transition. You see it took a long time to get him to here, and this preseason is going to be really crucial for him. So far, he’s done a nice job.”
