Oregon’s Pharaoh Brown suspended for his role in snowball fight

Remember when you were a kid, and would throw things at your siblings or friends, and your mom would say, “Stop throwing things at people before you lose the right to play in a bowl game?� Well, Oregon tight end Pharaoh Brown must not have been listening.

Brown was suspended from playing in the Alamo Bowl for his role in a snowball fight that turned ugly, the school announced Monday. Oregon plays Texas in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 30.

Brown was among a group of nearly 100 students hitting cars and drivers with snowballs on campus Friday. Other players took part in the snowball barrage, but so far only Brown has been suspended.

Oregon Coach Mark Helfrich described his players’ actions as “unacceptable and dangerous.�

Brown has 10 catches in nine games for 123 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Oregon linebacker Andre Yruretagoyena sent out a tweet apologizing for the actions of his teammates.
