NBA to appoint CEO to supervise Clippers

The NBA said Saturday it will work with the Clippers’ management to appoint a chief executive officer to supervise the team’s operations.
“The best way to ensure the stability of the team during this difficult situation is to move quickly and install a CEO to oversee the Clippers organization,” Mike Bass, the NBA’s executive vice president of communications, said in a statement.
“The process of identifying that individual is underway.”
Andy Roeser, the Clippers’ president, is also the team’s alternate governor.
“The CEO will be in charge of all business decisions,” said an NBA official who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has banned Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life after determining it was Sterling making racially charged remarks on an audio recording. Silver instructed the other NBA franchise owners to force Sterling to sell the team.
