Watch man with flare interrupt French Open to protest gay marriage
So Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer are busy playing in the men’s final of the French Open when something unexpected happens: A shirtless man with a flare and wearing a mask jumps onto the court and starts running around.
Was it Roger Federer, mad he wasn’t in the final? No.
Was it Michael Crawford, advertising a “Phantom of the Opera†revival? No.
Was it Rey Mysterio, signaling his return to professional wrestling? No.
The unidentified man was protesting France’s recent same-sex marriage law and was calling for the removal of French President Francois Hollande. Security quickly caught the guy.
Of course, you have to wonder about security at the French Open if a guy has time to remove his shirt, put on a mask, light a flare and jump on the court with no one noticing.
