Reporting from Louisville, Ky. — The 141st Kentucky Derby will be run Saturday at 3:44 p.m. PDT at Churchill Downs.
The race will be televised by NBC, with coverage beginning at 1 p.m. PDT.
The total purse for this year’s race is $2.2 million.
American Pharoah edges Firing Line to win 141st Kentucky Derby
American Pharoah, owned by Ahmed Zayat and trained by Bob Baffert, is the favorite in an 18-horse field.
Jockey Victor Espinoza, who rode 2014 Derby winner California Chrome, has the mount on American Pharoah.
Dortmund, owned by Kaleem Shah and trained by Baffert, is the odds makers’ second choice.
Martin Garcia will ride Dortmund.
