Clippers’ Jamal Crawford to be named NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year
Clippers reserve guard Jamal Crawford will be named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award winner for the second time in his 14-year career.
Team and NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter confirmed that Crawford will become just the fourth player to win the award twice.
Crawford won the award in 2010 while with the Atlanta Hawks.
The league wanted to present Crawford the award before Tuesday night’s Game 5 between the Clippers and Golden State at Staples Center but didn’t because of the Donald Sterling turmoil.
Crawford had 19 points off the bench during the Clippers’ victory over the Warriors on Tuesday night.
Crawford averaged 18.6 points during the 2013-14 season, the third-highest on the team.
He started 24 games because of injuries to J.J. Redick.
