Clippers rookie C.J. Wilcox has shoulder injury

Clippers draft pick C.J. Wilcox has a right shoulder injury that will prevent him from playing in the summer league in Las Vegas later this month, according to NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
The Clippers are optimistic that Wilcox won’t need surgery and will be ready to play when training camp opens in October.
The Clippers, who used their first-round pick at No. 28 to select Wilcox last week, were unaware that the 23-year-old guard from Washington had a shoulder injury until the team gave him a post-draft physical this week.
After Wilcox complained about soreness in his shoulder, the Clippers gave Wilcox an MRI.
Wilcox averaged 14.4 points on 43.3% shooting from the field, 38.9% from three-point range, over his four-year career at Washington.
