Source: Cowboys trade for Bills QB Matt Cassel

The Dallas Morning News has learned that the Cowboys have traded for Buffalo Bills quarterback Matt Cassel.
The Cowboys traded a 2017 fifth-round draft pick for Cassel and Buffalo’s 2017 seventh-round draft pick, according to Morning News sources.
The Cowboys were in need of another quarterback after starter Tony Romo went down in Sunday’s 20-10 win over the Eagles.
They worked out a variety of options, including Christian Ponder, Matt Flynn and Josh Johnson.
Cassel, 33, made the 2010 Pro Bowl has 15,727 yards passing and 96 touchdowns to go with 70 interceptions in 10 seasons.
He has played for the Patriots, Chiefs, Vikings and Bills in his career. He was traded to Buffalo in March, released briefly this month but later re-signed.
