The Browns have abandoned the Terrelle Pryor experiment, waiving him Thursday in the midst of his transition from quarterback to wide receiver, a league source confirmed for the Beacon Journal.
ProFootballTalk.com first reported the news.
The Browns waived Pryor to make room on the 53-man roster for former Seattle Seahawks running back Robert Turbin.
The Browns claimed Turbin off waivers Thursday. The Seahawks waived him Wednesday off injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement.
Turbin, 25, has a sprained ankle and reportedly won’t be ready to play for a few weeks.
He has played in all 16 games the past three seasons. Last year, he had 74 carries for 310 yards (4.2 average).
