NBA roundup: Leonard, Spurs top Westbrook, Thunder

Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points and the San Antonio Spurs held Russell Westbrook scoreless in the fourth quarter Tuesday night on their way to a 108-94 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in San Antonio.

Westbrook had 27 points, 14 assists and six rebounds in 34 minutes, but was shut out after scoring 14 points in the third quarter.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 25 points as San Antonio improved to 17-6 at home, and Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich collected his 1,126th career victory, leaving him one shy of tying the NBA record for most wins with one franchise held by Utah’s Jerry Sloan.

Rookie forward Domantas Sabonis matched a season high with 13 rebounds and had 13 points for the Thunder, whose bench was outscored 32-22.

Leonard had 12 points in the final quarter, including a dynamic three-point play for a 91-81 lead.

at Washington 117, New York 101: Bradley Beal went shot for shot with Carmelo Anthony and then some as the Wizards moved into a tie with Atlanta for first place in the Southeast Division. Beal scored 28 points on 12-for-18 shooting, Mar- kieff Morris scored 24 and John Wall had 15 points and 13 assists for Washington, which has won five in a row and 11 of its last 13 games. Anthony had 26 points for the Knicks, who were missing 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis, sidelined by an illness.

at Toronto 108, New Orleans 106 (OT): Kyle Lowry scored 33 points, including the tiebreaking jumper with 4.3 seconds left in overtime, and had 10 assists to help the Raptors beat the Pelicans for the third straight time. Jrue Holiday scored 30 points and Anthony Davis had 18 points and 17 rebounds, his 30th double-double for the Pelicans, who lost their second straight.

at Houston 105, Sacramento 83: Ryan Anderson had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets, who turned the game into a blowout with a big second-quarter run and required little statistical input from do-everything star James Harden. He finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

at Portland 115, Charlotte 98: Damian Lillard scored 27 points as the Trail Blazers breezed past the Hornets, who have lost five games in a row.
