MLB: Reliever Kelley acquired by A’s
Reliever Shawn Kelley was acquired Sunday by Oakland from Washington for cash and international slot money.
Kelley, 34, was designated for assignment Wednesday, a day after slamming his glove on the mound while pitching in the ninth inning of a 25-4 victory over the New York Mets.
The right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.34 earned-run average.

Houston put starter Lance McCullers Jr. on the 10-day disabled list because of right elbow discomfort and activated right-handed reliever Roberto Osuna, who was acquired from Toronto last week and is coming off a 75-day MLB-imposed suspension for a violation of the league’s domestic violence policy. ... Milwaukee claimed right-hander Jordan Lyles off waivers from San Diego. ... St. Louis claimed right-hander Tyson Ross off waivers from San Diego.
