Ramon Sessions says left shoulder is improving

Two days after feeling additional pain in his sprained left shoulder, guard Ramon Sessions described the shoulder before the Lakers-Nuggets game Friday as “good.â€

“The shoulder is feeling the best it has felt,†he said.

Sessions says he hardly felt that way during the Lakers’ 98-84 victory Wednesday over the San Antonio Spurs. After taking a blow to the shoulder, Sessions sat out with 3:05 left in the third quarter and later returned for the final 6:30 of the game. He appeared tentative during that stretch, logging only one field-goal attempt and an assist.

Sessions spent the Lakers’ day off Thursday receiving additional treatment on his shoulder, including icing and massage therapy. After spraining the shoulder in the Lakers’ win last week over the Clippers, Sessions has worn kinesio tape and a protective pad along his shoulder. But he believes he can stop wearing it within the next week. Sessions reached that conclusion after he noticed the massage treatment he received from the Lakers’ training staff caused little to no pain.

“I thought it was going to feel bad,†Sessions said. “But it was one of those things that I iced after the game and got treatment. But it ended up feeling good. I woke up feeling good.â€
